Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Mini chocolate chips (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt until combined.
  2. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined; some lumps are fine.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter.
  5. Pour batter onto the skillet in ghost shapes. Cook until bubbles form on top, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  6. Serve topped with whipped cream ghosts and mini chocolate chip eyes.

Notes

  • For extra fun, mix in chocolate chips or colorful sprinkles before cooking.
  •  You can substitute carob powder for cocoa if desired.
