Quench your thirst with this invigorating homemade ginger ale, a perfect blend of zesty ginger and sparkling bubbles, ideal for any gathering or casual sipping at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cups carbonated water
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine grated ginger, sugar, and water. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes to infuse flavors. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl or jar. Discard solids.
  4. Mix in the lemon juice with the cooled syrup.
  5. In a large pitcher, combine one part syrup with four parts carbonated water. Adjust sweetness and strength as desired.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try incorporating other spices like turmeric or cinnamon.
  •  Fresh fruit juices can be added to create fun mocktail variations.
  •  Store leftover ginger ale in glass bottles in the fridge for up to a week.
