Description

Start your day with this fluffy, high-protein French toast, perfectly sweetened and topped with fresh berries. It’s a nutritious breakfast that everyone will adore!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (or plant-based milk)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup or honey for drizzling
  • Fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides well. Let sit for about 30 seconds to absorb.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.
  4. Cook soaked bread slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Serve hot topped with maple syrup or honey and fresh berries if desired.

Notes

  • For better absorption, use stale bread.
  •  Whisk the egg mixture vigorously for a smoother texture.
  • Allow soaked bread to rest before cooking for firmer results.
