- 1 large egg (or 1 tbsp ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tbsp water for vegan option)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth but still chunky.
- Stir in diced onion, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Mix in breadcrumbs and egg (or flax egg) until the mixture holds together.
- Form the mixture into patties about 1 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve with your favorite toppings like avocado or salsa.
