- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Sea salt flakes for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour and salt; gradually fold into the wet mixture until incorporated.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it, then spread the remaining batter on top.
- Swirl the remaining caramel sauce into the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean with some gooey bits.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top while warm; sprinkle sea salt flakes. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
Notes
- For added texture, consider mixing in chopped nuts or chocolate chips before baking. Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
