Description

Memorial Day Strawberry Lemonade is the ultimate summer refreshment, combining fresh strawberries and zesty lemons for a thirst-quenching drink perfect for gatherings and sunny days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 4 large lemons)
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cups filtered water (or sparkling water for a twist)
  • Ice cubes (or frozen strawberries)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull the strawberries, then cut them in half.
  2. Juice the lemons until you have about one cup of fresh lemon juice, straining out any seeds.
  3. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water over medium heat, stirring until fully dissolved to create a sweet syrup.
  4. In a blender, puree the hulled strawberries with the lemon juice and sweet syrup until smooth.
  5. Pour the blended mixture into a large pitcher and mix in 3 cups of cold water. Stir well and serve over ice cubes or frozen strawberries.

Notes

  •  For an added twist, consider blending in mint leaves or a splash of club soda for fizz.
  •  Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to three days; add ice just before serving to keep it chilled.
