Description
Memorial Day Strawberry Lemonade is the ultimate summer refreshment, combining fresh strawberries and zesty lemons for a thirst-quenching drink perfect for gatherings and sunny days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 4 large lemons)
- 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 3 cups filtered water (or sparkling water for a twist)
- Ice cubes (or frozen strawberries)
Instructions
- Rinse and hull the strawberries, then cut them in half.
- Juice the lemons until you have about one cup of fresh lemon juice, straining out any seeds.
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water over medium heat, stirring until fully dissolved to create a sweet syrup.
- In a blender, puree the hulled strawberries with the lemon juice and sweet syrup until smooth.
- Pour the blended mixture into a large pitcher and mix in 3 cups of cold water. Stir well and serve over ice cubes or frozen strawberries.
Notes
- For an added twist, consider blending in mint leaves or a splash of club soda for fizz.
- Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to three days; add ice just before serving to keep it chilled.
