Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth or water
Instructions
- Gather and prepare all ingredients: slice the beef, chop broccoli, and mince garlic and ginger.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, chicken broth (or water), garlic, and ginger until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef in batches; cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, add broccoli florets with a splash of water. Cover for 2-3 minutes until vibrant green. Uncover to let them crisp up.
- Return cooked beef to the skillet along with the prepared sauce mixture. Cook together on medium heat for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Drizzle sesame oil over everything before tossing to combine. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- For extra crunch, consider adding bell peppers or snap peas.
- To enhance flavor, marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
