Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fresh fish fillets (6 oz each, such as salmon or cod)
- 3 tbsp white or yellow miso paste
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together miso paste, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, sesame oil, and grated ginger until smooth.
- Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring even coating. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat (400°F/200°C). If using an oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the fillets from the marinade and place them on the grill or baking sheet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Transfer to serving plates and garnish with chopped green onions. Enjoy!
Notes
- For added crunch, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
- Substitute fish with tofu for a vegetarian option.
- Broiling can enhance caramelization for an appealing finish.
