Description
BBQ chicken is a summer classic, featuring juicy grilled chicken slathered in a sweet and smoky glaze that’s perfect for gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400°F) and clean the grates.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, lemon juice, honey, soy sauce, and smoked paprika for the marinade.
- Coat each chicken breast generously with the marinade; let marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight for maximum flavor).
- Brush each side of the marinated chicken with BBQ sauce just before grilling.
- Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, use tofu or portobello mushrooms instead of chicken; both absorb flavors well.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
