Description

Buttery Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks are a deliciously soft and flavorful treat, perfect for snacking or as a side dish at any meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp melted butter (plus more for brushing)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Stir gently until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Gradually add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to about ½ inch thick. Cut into strips approximately 1 inch wide.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the strips on a greased baking sheet and bake for around 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Brush the hot breadsticks generously with melted butter mixed with garlic powder immediately after baking.

Notes

  •  For extra flavor, add herbs like oregano or basil to the dough.
  •  Swap out parmesan for mozzarella if you prefer gooey cheese.
