Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, mix warm apple cider and melted butter. Add eggs and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Ensure no lumps remain.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined to avoid dense donuts.
- Transfer batter to a piping bag or zip-top bag and pipe into each donut cavity halfway full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. A toothpick should come out clean when inserted.
- Allow cooling for about 5 minutes before removing from the pan. Toss warm donuts in granulated or powdered sugar.
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
- Add a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top for extra flavor.
