Description

Homemade hummus is a creamy, nutritious dip that can be prepared in just minutes. Perfect for parties or snacking, this easy recipe will impress your friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • Juice of 1 medium lemon (about 2 tbsp)
  • 12 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed for consistency

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on the countertop.
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. With the processor running, gradually add olive oil and water until you achieve your desired creamy consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
  5. Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with paprika or fresh herbs if desired.
  6. Serve with pita chips or fresh veggies.

Notes

  • For an even creamier hummus, use freshly cooked chickpeas instead of canned ones.
  •  Customize flavors by adding roasted red peppers or spices like smoked paprika for a unique twist.
