- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add chopped basil and lemon juice.
- Combine cooked pasta with the sauce, tossing well until coated. Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
