Description

Brioche buns are a delightful blend of soft texture and rich flavor, perfect for breakfast sandwiches or gourmet sliders. These homemade treats will elevate any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the center; add yeast mixture and beaten eggs. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Incorporate butter: Gradually add softened butter while kneading until fully absorbed.
  5. First rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the buns: Punch down the dough, divide into 12 equal portions, shape into balls, and place on a lined baking tray.
  7. Final rise: Cover with a towel and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed up.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush tops with beaten egg for shine. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For added flavor, experiment by incorporating herbs or cheese into the dough.
  •  Store leftover buns wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to two days or freeze for longer storage.
