- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti (uncooked)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Prepare the pasta: Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook linguine until al dente as per package instructions. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
- 2. Sauté garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- 3. Cook shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until shrimp turn pink and opaque (2-3 minutes per side), then remove from heat.
- 4. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, add remaining butter, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Stir well until combined.
- 5. Combine: Return shrimp to the skillet with drained pasta and chopped parsley. Toss together, adding reserved pasta water if necessary for creaminess.
- 6. Serve: Plate your shrimp scampi and garnish with additional parsley or lemon slices if desired.
