Description

Mardi Gras Beignets are fluffy, sweet pastries dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for festive celebrations. Enjoy a taste of New Orleans in every delightful bite.

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth. Combine with dry ingredients; stir gently until just mixed.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 1-2 minutes until soft but not sticky. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough to ½ inch thick and cut into squares.
  5. Fry in batches until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
  •  Feel free to fill beignets with chocolate or fruit preserves for a unique twist.
  •  Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days; reheat briefly in the oven.
