Ingredients

  • 23 black tea bags (Assam or Darjeeling)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 crushed cardamom pods
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced or grated
  • 1 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • Sweetener to taste (sugar or honey)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan over medium heat. Add crushed cardamom and sliced ginger.
  2. Once boiling, add black tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in milk and your preferred sweetener, keeping on low heat until heated through.
  4. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  5. Strain into mugs and garnish with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve hot.
