Description

Delight in these Salisbury Steak Meatballs, featuring tender beef meatballs enveloped in a rich gravy. Perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings, this dish is comfort food at its finest!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown half of the meatballs for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown; set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef broth, soy sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for another 10-15 minutes until cooked through and coated in gravy.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Notes

  • For added flavor, use freshly chopped herbs like parsley or thyme.
  •  You can swap ground turkey or chicken for a leaner alternative.
  •  Don’t skip browning the meatballs; it adds depth to the flavor.
