Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar in a small bowl. Let it sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg. Add the yeast mixture once it’s ready.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (12×18 inches) and generously sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape, pinch seams to seal, then place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (30-45 minutes). Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
