Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup tapioca pearls
- 4 cups water (for boiling)
- 1 cup milk or milk alternative (such as almond or oat milk)
- 2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener (like honey or agave syrup)
- 1/4 cup flavored syrup or fruit puree (your favorite flavor)
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Add tapioca pearls and stir gently until they float, usually about 5-7 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix sugar with warm water until dissolved to create your sweetener.
- Once the pearls are cooked, allow them to cool slightly, then stir in your chosen flavored syrup or fruit puree.
- In another glass, combine the milk (or alternative) with the sweetened flavoring.
- Spoon the cooked tapioca pearls into serving glasses, pour in the milk mixture over them, and gently stir to combine.
Notes
Use fresh tapioca pearls for optimal texture; stale pearls can become rubbery.
- Experiment with different types of milk for unique flavors—almond and coconut can add an exciting twist.
- Adjust sweetness to taste; start small and increase gradually.
