Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt dark chocolate and butter until smooth. Stir occasionally.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until light and frothy.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract, then gently fold in the melted chocolate-butter mixture.
  5. Sift flour and salt into the batter, folding until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until set but slightly gooey in the center.
  7. Allow to cool before serving; optionally dust with powdered sugar or top with fresh berries.
