- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt dark chocolate and butter until smooth. Stir occasionally.
- In a separate bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until light and frothy.
- Mix in vanilla extract, then gently fold in the melted chocolate-butter mixture.
- Sift flour and salt into the batter, folding until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until set but slightly gooey in the center.
- Allow to cool before serving; optionally dust with powdered sugar or top with fresh berries.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, experiment by adding a pinch of sea salt or espresso powder to the batter.
