Description
Indulge in fluffy cinnamon rolls with heavy cream that are irresistibly moist and delicious. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack, they’ll brighten any occasion!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms; add more flour if necessary.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- For the filling, combine softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle (¼ inch thick). Spread the filling evenly over the dough and roll tightly into a log.
- Slice into even pieces (about 12) and arrange them in the greased baking pan.
- Pour heavy cream over the rolls before covering to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before drizzling with glaze made from confectioners’ sugar mixed with vanilla extract and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
Notes
- For extra flavor variations, consider adding chocolate chips or using nutmeg instead of cinnamon.
- If you prefer a different glaze, try maple syrup instead of icing!
