Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil for frying (about 2-3 inches deep)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil over medium heat until the butter melts.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour all at once. Mix vigorously until it forms a smooth ball that pulls away from the sides.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly, then mix in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat (around 350°F).
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into hot oil without overcrowding.
- Fry each churro until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly before coating in cinnamon sugar.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding vanilla extract or citrus zest to your dough.
- To enhance crispiness, ensure your oil is hot enough before frying.
