Description
Indulge in the comfort of homemade banana bread, a delightful treat that’s moist, sweet, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas (about 1.5 cups mashed)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth but slightly chunky.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. Stir in the oil (or melted butter) and mashed bananas.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—avoid overmixing.
- If desired, gently fold in nuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for optimal sweetness and moisture.
- Feel free to substitute half of the flour with oats for added texture.
- Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days or freeze slices for longer storage.
