Description

Baked falafel are crispy, flavorful patties made from wholesome chickpeas and spices. They make a perfect healthy snack, appetizer, or addition to wraps and salads.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Pulse until coarsely blended.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and mix in flour and baking powder until combined.
  4. Form small balls or patties from the mixture and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over each patty before baking.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Soak chickpeas overnight for better texture.
  •  Experiment by adding cayenne pepper for heat or grated vegetables for added nutrition.
