Description

A savory Asparagus and Goat Cheese Tart with a flaky crust, tender asparagus, and creamy cheese, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 pound, trimmed)
  • 4 oz creamy goat cheese (crumbled)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Place it on the prepared baking sheet and trim any excess.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and half of the grated Parmesan until smooth.
  4. Spread the crumbled goat cheese evenly over the pastry base. Artfully arrange the asparagus spears on top.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the asparagus and cheese, ensuring everything is coated while leaving some asparagus visible.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

  •  For an added flavor twist, incorporate fresh herbs such as thyme or dill.
  •  Feel free to substitute goat cheese with feta or ricotta for a different taste.
  •  Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days; reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F until warmed through.
