Description
A savory Asparagus and Goat Cheese Tart with a flaky crust, tender asparagus, and creamy cheese, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy night in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 pound, trimmed)
- 4 oz creamy goat cheese (crumbled)
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Place it on the prepared baking sheet and trim any excess.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and half of the grated Parmesan until smooth.
- Spread the crumbled goat cheese evenly over the pastry base. Artfully arrange the asparagus spears on top.
- Pour the egg mixture over the asparagus and cheese, ensuring everything is coated while leaving some asparagus visible.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
- For an added flavor twist, incorporate fresh herbs such as thyme or dill.
- Feel free to substitute goat cheese with feta or ricotta for a different taste.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days; reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F until warmed through.
